The University Documentary Film Services program teaches, engages in, and presents documentary work grounded in collaborative local and global partnerships that use photography, film/video, audio, and narrative writing to capture and convey memory, life, research, theory, and culture.

Services include:

  • Coordinating existing documentary film efforts and resources on campus.
  • Providing information and support for producing documentaries.
  • Offering classroom instruction and workshops about basic documentary skills.
  • Disseminating campus documentary projects.


University Documentary Film Services staff provides professional guidance to students, staff and faculty engaged in documentary projects.


The UDFS provides documentary workshops to the campus community Workshops will be offered on an ongoing and rotating basis.

Visiting Filmmakers

UDFS brings filmmakers to campus to screen their documentaries and provide discussion about various topics and production.
