Beth Davison

Meet Beth:

Dr. Davison is the Director of Interdisciplinary Studies and Co-Directory of University Documentary Film Services.  Dr. Davison started in the Sociology Department at Appalachian State University in 1997.  For the Sociology Department, she teaches research methods classes and senior seminar.  She also teaches media classes for Interdisciplinary Studies.  She has published 16 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, worked on grants totaling near $1 million dollars.  Her documentary projects, screened internationally, include The Denim DynastyEva & Moe and Dulatown. A few docs that inspired her to become a documentarian are Poletown LivesThe Education of Shelby Knox,  and The Pruitt Igor Myth

University Documentary Services is a unit within Appalachian's University College. University College consists of the university's integrated general education curriculum, academic support services, residential learning communities, interdisciplinary degree programs and co-curricular programming – all designed to support the work of students both inside and outside of the classroom.
